Bats in a cave

by Tolla Pieterse
(Heidelberg GP)

This activity is a touching activity and tends to bring people closer together, breaking the personal space barriers in a way that is very little offending.

How does it work?

Let the participants sit in a circle and spend a few minutes looking at each other in silence. They should gather as much visual information of each other as possible and try to remember what they see. Then call any person to the front and cover his/her eyes. then silently take any person from the group and let the blinded member touch him/her face(always above the belt and away from the chest area) in an attempt to recognize the person. Let the one say what they feel and call the name of who they think they are touching. Let several members do the same in turn.

After the activity, ask them how it felt to be touched by someone else and how it made them feel. Facilitate the answers and comments.

Enjoy
