Fasion challenge

by Tolla Pieterse
(Heidelberg GP)

This activity aims at showing people that we tend to have a preconceived perception about people without ever communicating or interacting with them.

How it works?

Divide the group in teams of 4 and give each group $100 in cash. Then give them the following challenge. They must make use of only $100 to buy clothes and dress one member of the team as close to the latest fation as possible.

They have one hour to complete the task. Tell them that you will judge the outcome and the winning team will receive a prize.

The catch?? They may only buy from street vendors.

The key to this activity is not to see if they have style or even who won. This was just for fun. The key aspect that needs to be facilitated is as follow:

What was the groups/individual's perception on street vendors prior to the activity?

How did they feel about the way the street vendors treated them as customers?

Did this experience change their perception in any way after the activity?

In what way?

What does such an activity teach you in life?

Enjoy your shopping.
