Just Ask

This activity is aimed at showing the team that we tend to try to get things done by following the most difficult way, instead of just asking.
How does it work?
With a group of more than 5, tie every person together with a rope and make sure they are tangled up properly. This is just a method to decide the person having to solve the problem. Then make sure you have a radio on as loud as possible to create a disturbing environment for good communication.
Blind the person by covering his/her eyes and give him/her the instruction to find out a password for a safe from one of the other team members. This team member must not be known to any person in the group and the same for the password.
If the person try to get the password by following the rope and asking each person if they have it, it shows that the person is following the difficult way. Most probably they will find the person with the password.
Then ask the group how they experienced the activity and facilitate the answers.
Key!! ask them (if they did not do so), why the person looking for the password did not simply ask someone to switch off the radio and then openly ask who has the password and what it is. This should then prove that by asking, you can solve problems more effectively and inn less time.
Enjoy this activity it is fun.
